There are high-end 2011s, there are full-house competition pistols, and then there is the Taran Tactical Innovations Pit Viper. Built as the headline handgun for John Wick: Chapter 4, the JW4 PV takes the speed-gun formula and turns every dial until the stops come off. From the aggressive slide machining and copper-finished barrel to the full-length frame, massive magwell, and unmistakable Pit Viper profile, this is a pistol that announces exactly what it is before the first shot ever breaks.

The Pit Viper was not dressed up after the fact to capitalize on a movie appearance; its John Wick connection is baked directly into the identity of the gun. The pistol became one of the signature firearms associated with Keanu Reeves' John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 4, where the franchise once again leaned heavily into high-level practical shooting and competition-influenced gun handling. Taran Tactical's connection to the Wick films and the training behind them turned the company's competition pedigree into part of modern action-movie culture, and the Pit Viper sits right at the top of that story.
Underneath the Hollywood pedigree is a serious double-stack 2011-style performance pistol. The steel frame and slide give the gun useful mass, while extensive slide cuts remove reciprocating weight where it matters and give the Pit Viper its unmistakably aggressive appearance. The slide-to-frame relationship, long dust cover, oversized controls, and competition-oriented geometry make it immediately obvious that this was designed around speed rather than compromise.

Up front is one of the defining features of the entire package: the 5.00" 9mm barrel and integrated compensator system. The copper-colored barrel flashes through the generous slide windows and provides the visual contrast that has become inseparable from the Pit Viper's identity. Combined with the weight of the steel chassis and lightened slide, the compensated setup is intended to keep the pistol flat and get the sights back where they belong in a hurry.

And those sights deserve attention, because the Pit Viper takes a deliberately old-school competition approach instead of hiding behind a red dot. A bright green fiber-optic front is paired with TTI's distinctive adjustable Ghost Profile rear sight, producing a fast, uncluttered sight picture. The rear unit is sunk aggressively into the slide making the sighting arrangement every bit as purpose-built as the rest of the pistol.
The trigger system is exactly where a pistol in this class needs to make its money. The skeletonized single-action trigger works with an Extreme Engineering-style fire-control arrangement, backed by a skeletonized hammer and the short, direct trigger geometry that makes the 2011 platform such a favorite among serious competition shooters. There is very little about this pistol aimed at being ordinary; the controls are built around getting the gun running quickly and keeping it there.

The grip treatment follows the same philosophy. TTI's heavily textured double-stack grip gives the support and firing hands plenty to bite into, while the extended magazine release and oversized flared magwell are pure speed-gun hardware. The beavertail grip safety lets the shooter ride high behind the bore, and the ambidextrous thumb safeties provide the broad ledges expected on a modern performance-oriented 2011.

Look closely at the nose and the Pit Viper gets even more interesting. The radically machined front end incorporates the distinctive TTI Fangs stand-off treatment, giving the pistol a profile unlike the endless field of conventional 2011s. Add the full-length accessory rail, deep front and rear slide serrations, large lightening windows, contrasting barrel, and angular machining, and there is practically no mistaking this pistol from across the room.
The Pit Viper and 9mm are made for each other. With its steel frame, compensated barrel, and lightened slide working together, the pistol stays remarkably flat and settles back on target with real urgency. Feed it from the extended magazines through that cavernous TTI magwell, and the whole package feels exactly like what it is—a purpose-built 2011 engineered for speed, control, and unapologetically hard running.

This example brings the visual goods in a big way. The black finish remains sharp against the copper barrel, the slide cuts and etched TTI markings remain crisp, and the aggressive grip texture gives the gun the same menacing profile that made it instantly recognizable on screen. Two extra magazines and the Taran Tactical soft case round out a package that looks every bit as serious laid out on the bench as it does in the hand.

Collector interest here goes well beyond another expensive custom pistol. The Pit Viper occupies the crossover between elite competition-gun culture and one of the defining modern action-film franchises, and Taran Tactical continues to recognize that association with dedicated JW4 Pit Viper presentation options.
